We believe in everyone's Safety

AWS PRACTICES

We are primarily focused on how to help cut down on the spread on COVID-19.  We will be doing our part with the social distancing to cut down on personnel gathering.  With this we will also take into consideration the following.

  • The office will be closed to the public at this time or by appointment only.

  • Product or packages will be dropped off at the main door at the office.  Numbers are on the door if you need to get a hold of office staff.

  • Regular cleaning of the office will be done throughout the day; all door handles and keypads, light switches, and all phone.  Each staff working in the office will clean his/her office, to make sure all surfaces are clean.

  •

  • At safety meetings/office documentation use our own pens when signing in on all forms.

  • Daily self-screening questionnaire will be done before working on site.

  • On locations, the doghouse will be authorized for only the rig crew and the consultant.  Any tail gate meeting will be done outside with all 3rd parties.

  • If water is available, wash hands for 20 seconds with soap and water.  And if not, use hand sanitizer and clean surfaces regularly.  Disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces such as, handles of doors, fridges, microwaves, water jug and desk and food surfaces etc.

  • Make sure to cover your sneeze or cough with a tissue, or into bend elbow.

  • If you have signs or symptoms of the flu, fever or cough.  You will go home and self-isolate for the 14 days.  If you need you call 811 for assistance if your symptoms get worse.

YOU MUST DO A SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE DAILY FOR WORKING AT AWS OR IF ENTERING ONE OF OUR LEASE  LOCATIONS DURING THIS PANDEMIC.

KNOW HOW IT SPREADS

  • There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

  • The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.

  • The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

    • Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).

    • Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

    • Touching contaminated surfaces and then touching the face, month or food.

  • These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

  • Avoid crowds, especially in poorly ventilated spaces. Your risk of exposure to respiratory viruses like COVID-19 may increase in crowded, closed-in settings with little air circulation if there are people in the crowd who are sick.

  • We have recommended that anyone from AWS that has traveled from outside of Canada self-isolate for 14 days.  If you have had contact with someone who has be affected or at risk to self-isolate for 14 days.  Please make sure you have good communication with the office with any concerns or questions you have.

HYGIENE PRACTICES

  • Clean your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds-before you eat and at the end of workday, during the work shift whenever possible and when you get home from work.

  • Do not shake hands; avoid physical contact.

  • Do not share food, drink, cigarettes.

  • Do not touch your face, eyes, nose, month with unwashed hands (ex. Smoking, drinking water, eating etc.)

  • Follow good respiratory etiquette by coving your mouth and nose with a disposable tissue or the crease of your elbow when you sneeze or cough.

  • Regularly clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces and tools.

SAFETY MEETINGS

  • Limit the number of persons in the doghouse, a chair spacing between workers.  Move meeting to outside of the doghouse to keep social distancing in place.

  • Disinfect used pens, counters, bench and chairs etc. after meeting.

  • As part of the verbal meeting, discuss:

  1.  Social distancing of 2 meters

  2. Hygiene, and location of hand sanitization stations.

  3. What AWS is doing at the site to promote a safe workplace and remind them that their health is important to us.

  4. Importance of reporting to their supervisor if they are feeling unwell and leaving the project.

  5. Remind everyone that the daily questionnaire must be filled out before you are on site.  And that this is a measure to keep you and everyone else safe.  If you are sick stay home and self-isolate for 14 days.

CLEAN AND DISINFECT

  • Clean AND Disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, benches, chairs, rails, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, sinks, crew truck handles, steering wheels and controls panels.

  • Cleaning and disinfection should be done as often as possible and a minimum at the beginning of shift, before eating, end of shift.

  • Disinfect with Xtreme spray, or you can use spray nine or grease off.

  • If surfaces are dirty, clean them: Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.

  • Once you have disinfection make sure to wash your hand or use hand sanitizer.
